Nine US Troops Killed in Afghanistan
Prayers up for the families and the men dealing with the aftermath.
These were our guys. Short time is the worst. You still have to do your job, knowing you're going home in a month. 30 and wake-up. 20 and a wake-up. You get nervous. You get cautious to the point of hesitancy. Sometimes you even get complacent, and complacency kills.
The enemy knows our deployment routine. They knew these guys were short time. The ACM (Anti-Coalition Militia) will step up attacks in the next three weeks.
On the other hand, it's crap like this that needs to be stopped. Note that the Taliban says the women had been ACCUSED of prostitution, not actually proven to be true.
Elsewhere, Taliban militants executed two women in central Afghanistan late Saturday after accusing them of working as prostitutes on a U.S. base.
The women, dressed in blue burqas, were shot and killed just outside Ghazni city in central Afghanistan, said Sayed Ismal, a spokesman for Ghazni's governor. He called the two "innocent local people."
Taliban fighters told Associated Press Television News the two women were executed for allegedly running a prostitution ring catering to U.S. Soldiers and other foreign contractors at a U.S. base in Ghazni city.
1st Lt. Nathan Perry, a U.S. military spokesman, said he had not heard allegations "anything close to that nature."

Tankerbabe was not happy when she called me yesterday from the airport. She took this hard.
We need more troops in the Stan, NOW. Period. End of discussion.
Yeah, keep Tankerbabe in your prayers and stay in touch. We are blessed to have her and her caring heart.
We were dealing with the families of some of our "new guys", who are too new to realize these 9 and 15 weren't their guys. We can't get them in and out fast enough. I'm a big one to remind the total casualties numbers. But you know, they're all names to us.
Take the time to remember, SGT Bull of the 3-1 STB. His memorial service is starting right now at Ft Hood. Some of our new guys are attached to the 3-1 STB. Our guys met the casualties from their new unit, as they were in processing. It's gonna another be hard deployment.
The 6-4 CAV troops are in the fight, now. So everyone add them to your cheer prayer list, along with the rest of the 3-1. The enemy keeps up with rotation schedules, too.
You all are the best friends a woman could have. Thank you for your kind remarks but please don't worry about me. I'm OK. We have to stay focused on saying our prayers and sending our love and support to the Sky Soldiers and their families. The hours are dragging by for them - waiting, hoping, wondering if it was their beloved men who gave their all yesterday at the hands of cowards. Low life, air sucking terrorists who hid behind a mosque and family homes because they knew our brave and honorable men wouldn't break the "rules orf engagement" and attack a place that is supposed to be reserved for religious purposes and home with "innocent" women and children.
My heart is breaking. Truly breaking right now. Not only for the families of those who perished yesterday but also for SGT Bull's family. My thoughts, prayers, love and gratefulness are with them always.
And we wait.....
